Isn't It Time To
End The Chaos?

When you really get honest with yourself, aren’t you ready to stop obsessing about food? To stop shaming yourself for overeating or having another night of binging?

I know how maddening it can be having most aspects of your life dialed in EXCEPT your relationship with food and weight!

It makes no sense (seemingly). And yet, day after day, the same struggles and feelings of being out of control consume you and your thoughts.

At this point, it’s beyond exhausting, it’s downright maddening.

I intimately understand. I’ve not only personally been there but have helped hundreds of people just like you, and can promise that...

There is a way out!

Together we will get to the root cause of the problem. Once we uncover that, we gently work at understanding emotional eating at a deep level. This is the first step.

From there, I’ll provide you with tried and proven strategies that will help you tune into your body and mind in a way like never before.

Through my years of being a Registered Psychotherapist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and Attachment Therapist, I’ve amassed an arsenal of tools that act as your guide to developing new attitudes and more importantly new habits.

You don’t have to give up eating your favorite foods in order to be successful.

Quite the contrary! This is about balance and self-compassion, not restriction or starvation.
You’ll learn how to be in harmony with your thoughts and food cravings. How to nourish your body in a way that feels good once and for all.
You will learn how to end falling into extremes - like punishing yourself from last night’s binge by restricting food the next day or plowing through a whole sleeve of cookies when the family has gone to bed (even though you ate a big meal with them just a few hours prior).

I can tell you a couple of things for sure:

1. It's NOT about the food
2. You're not crazy
3. You're not alone
4. Freedom is possible

If you’re constantly obsessing about food and weight, exhausted from failed diets, and sick of self-sabotaging than I invite you to reach out for support.

I’ve dedicated my entire career to helping people reclaim their lives and end emotional eating.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

I’ll work with you to establish the frequency of sessions that will be best for you and your financial situation (benefits coverage).

BARIATRIC SURGERY

I provide support to people who are considering Bariatric Surgery or who’ve had surgery.

Most people don’t experience cravings post-surgery so you can feel very excited and hopeful. However, eventually, you will get triggered. Without addressing your relationship with food, you’re at risk of gaining weight.

By addressing patterns of emotional eating, you’re setting yourself up for long-term weight loss success - exactly what you want!

Educating the community

PUBLIC SPEAKING

I've made it my mission to educate the public about emotional eating and its impact on a person's ability to lose weight and/or maintain it.

There's so much more involved than simply eating less and exercising more.

Simply changing our eating behaviors does not work long-term. Research shows that 95% of people who use dieting as a means to control their weight will regain the weight and more within 2 years. This means that only 5% actually succeed long term.

I don’t like the odds.

By becoming aware and being educated on emotional eating we can change the odds of long-term weight loss success.

Ask your insurance provider:

  1. Am I covered for psychological services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario?

If you do not provide 48 hours or if you miss an appointment without notice, you will be charged the full session fee. Please note the cost per session is subject to increases and you will be notified 2 months in advance of any change.

The good news:

You will gain a deep and clear understanding of WHY you struggle with food, eating, and weight and what your relationship with food is all about. You will also develop life-long skills to take control of your eating habits and ultimately your weight. Our clients find that participating in psychotherapy results in very positive changes that were not expected or intended at the outset and find true freedom and peace with food (yes, this is totally possible!).

The bad news:

Therapy for Emotional Eating involves a degree of emotional risk. This type of work requires you to dig deep and to feel discomfort. Yuck, right? In the psychotherapy process, it is common to feel worse before you begin to feel better. Let’s compare to physical pain: if you fall and scrape your knee, you have no choice but to experience hours of a burning sensation and itchiness before your wound can heal…and therapy can be the same. It is hard work to process emotional pains and wounds that underlie emotional eating. But the rewards are like none other: you can free yourself from your obsessions around food, eating, body, and weight. You can heal your relationship with food and find peace.

You don’t need “fixing.” You may feel broken or that something is wrong with you. There’s nothing wrong with you. Think of this process more like “purging” instead of “fixing.” It’s like purging old clothes in your closet to make room for new, more updated clothes that will make you feel comfortable and confident. This journey is about purging all the old, toxic messages in your head from childhood and replace these outdated messages with new ones - healthier messages that won’t trigger stress eating or comfort eating. You deserve to feel comfortable in your skin, your mind, and your heart - every human being does.

Everyone’s situation is different and unique. The length of treatment depends on your individual root causes and your underlying emotional traumas. No 2 journeys are alike. Learning to recognize emotional eating takes time and patience. Learning how to release your root causes also takes time. This may not be what you want to hear but it’s the only way to free yourself from emotional eating.

This isn't a process for people looking for a quick fix, an eating plan, or another diet. This is a customized journey.

This is deep work and if you're 100% ready to check-in with yourself and do this “inside” work, it will absolutely work for you. Self-understanding takes time. Releasing yourself from your struggles and root causes takes time. Releasing yourself from shame, guilt, and blame takes time. But there’s no greater reward, freedom, and peace of mind that comes with this achievement.

Honestly, you may not lose weight initially. You have many years of checking out with food and stuffing things down with food. Your weight isn't the problem. Your eating habits aren't the problem. The problem and source of your difficulties are the root causes of your eating habits. Your eating habits make you gain weight or prevent you from losing weight and it’s your root causes that drive your eating habits. The root causes are the true source of why you feel out of control with food and your weight.

Some of my clients gain weight in the beginning of this work. And this makes sense because your main way of coping is by eating. Until you learn how to comfort and soothe yourself in other ways, you’ll turn to what you know, what works, and that's food and eating. You will learn other ways to cope as you progress on your journey and so you'll have more choices in coping strategies other than just food.
