You don’t have to give up eating your favorite foods in order to change your relationship with food.

When we approach this process from a place of kindness, you’ll start to feel balance and self-compassion, not criticism and restriction.

You’ll learn to identify your emotional triggers that have you reaching for food and how to better manage them. You might even start to notice that you think about food less and are more accepting of your body. This might sound impossible to you right now, but after more than a decade working with clients just like you, I’ve seen the changes!

You will learn how to stop beating yourself up for last night’s binge and then restricting food the next day.

You might not believe it now, but the truth is:

1. It's not about the food.
2. You're not crazy.
3. You're not alone.
4. Balance is possible.

If you’re constantly thinking about food and your weight, have gone on what feels like endless diets, and feel like you constantly self-sabotage, then reach out to us for support. You can even take a look through our blog, which has a ton of strategies and tools you can start using right away.

Your peace awaits.

If you do not provide 48 hours or if you miss an appointment without notice, you will be charged the full session fee.

The good news:

You will gain a clearer understanding of why you emotionally eat and how you might be caught in the binge/restrict cycle. We will explore how emotionally eating influences how you feel about yourself and then the feelings behind why you reach for food. This will shift your perspective around food, feelings, and your body. You will find yourself feeling calmer and more confident!

The bad news:

Therapy for emotional eating involves being honest with yourself and being vulnerable. It can be uncomfortable to dig into feelings and experiences that you want to shy away from. We know this is a big ask, so we will support you every step of the way by creating a safe, judgement-free space for you. Plus, teaching you tools and strategies along the way will help alleviate some of these feelings. It can often feel overwhelming at first, but working through the process can change your life in so many ways! Your peace awaits.

First off, you don’t need fixing! You may feel broken or that something is wrong with you, but that is your inner critic getting the best of you. Working through emotions and experiences means you’re facing them head on and through this work you start to lessen the hold these two things have on your habits. This will change your thought patterns, how you see yourself, and your relationships with others.

While emotional eating is common, everyone’s situation is unique when it comes to their healing journey. The length of treatment depends on so many factors, like your root causes, underlying traumas, and even time and financial commitments. Learning to recognize emotional eating takes time and patience. That may sound frustrating, but even when it feels challenging, doing this work will keep you headed in the right direction.

This isn't a process for people looking for a quick fix like another diet.

Self-understanding takes time. Releasing yourself from your root causes takes time. Releasing yourself from shame, guilt, and blame takes time. This is a customized journey just for you.

This is a very common question! Honestly, you may not lose weight. You have many years of using food to numb out and stuff down what you don’t want to feel. But the truth is: the problem isn’t the number on your scale or even what foods you choose to eat. It is the root causes that have you overeating that influence how you see yourself, from your body size to your abilities. It is these root causes that are the source of why you feel out of control with food and your weight.

Some gain weight in the beginning of this work. And this makes sense because you might still use food as a way to manage the difficult emotions coming up in therapy work. But don’t give up! As you learn more about why you emotionally eat and are taught the strategies to manage it, you will find your relationship with food (and your weight!) changes.
