Specialized 1:1 Therapy for Emotional Eating

If you've tried diets, meal plans, or simply "trying harder," you already know that knowing what to eat isn't the problem.

In our work together, we'll focus on understanding why emotional eating keeps happening so you can stop feeling stuck in the same cycle of cravings, guilt, and starting over.

Rather than focusing on willpower or strict food rules, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, nervous system patterns, and life experiences that influence your relationship with food. As you begin to understand what's driving your eating, change becomes less about fighting yourself and more about supporting yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does therapy take?

Everyone’s journey is different. The length of therapy depends on your goals, what you’re working through, and the pace that feels right for you.

Some clients notice meaningful changes within a few months, while others choose to continue longer-term support as they build a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship with food.

Our work together is not about rushing to “fix” a problem—it’s about creating lasting change that feels sustainable.

Do I need to stop emotional eating before starting therapy?

No. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

In fact, emotional eating is often the very thing we explore together. Our goal is not to take away a coping strategy before you have other ways to support yourself. We’ll work on understanding what your eating is trying to help you with and develop new ways to respond to your emotions and needs.

Will I have to follow a diet or meal plan?

No. Therapy is not about another set of food rules or restrictions.

Together, we’ll focus on understanding the thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences that influence your relationship with food. The goal is to help you feel more peaceful and confident around eating—not create another cycle of control and guilt.

What if I feel embarrassed or ashamed to talk about my eating?

Many people come to therapy feeling exactly this way.

You may have spent years hiding certain eating patterns, feeling frustrated with yourself, or wondering why you can’t “just stop.” Shame often becomes a big part of the struggle and it can make reaching out feel even harder.

I understand this personally as someone who has also struggled with emotional eating. I know what it feels like to feel stuck in the cycle of trying to control your eating, feeling disappointed in yourself, and wondering why change feels so difficult.

That’s why our work begins with curiosity and compassion—not judgment. You don’t need to explain everything perfectly or have the “right” words. We’ll work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and create change at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
